Seven quick tips for a perfect engagement or proposal photoshoot

To ensure your portrait is as beautiful as can be, try to follow these suggested guidelines:

    1. Schedule your engagement session a minimum of 6 to 8 weeks prior to your wedding day. The sooner the better! This allows adequate time for file processing and album designs.
    2. Choose outfits that suit your personality and make you feel attractive! Make sure you create color harmony and both outfits coordinate well together. Please do not wear short shorts or skirts. This makes posing more difficult. Long, flowing dresses, jeans, or khakis make better selections. Color coordination is also a must!
    3. Start thinking about props! This can make your photograph special and unique. Consider a picnic basket with wine glasses and a blanket, a straw hat, a musical instrument, even your pet! We can also utilize larger objects such as boats, sports cars, planes, or motorcycles.
    4. Do not worry about the location! Once you chose your wardrobe and schedule an appointment, we will discuss location and time with you. We have a wide variety of fun unique locations!
    5. Keep an eye out for interesting photographs that you like. Romantic postcards or magazine advertisements (fragrance ads are always good) can help us get an idea of what you have envisioned.
    6. Keep in mind that many couples chose to utilize their Engagement Portrait to display at their reception, or to include in invitations, albums, etc.
    7. And most importantly: have fun!

Kind Words from Clients

Jonathan basically came out of the bushes to get beautiful (surprise) photos of my fiancé proposing to me! He was so kind and helped take the awkward edge off of posing for photos in public by guiding us with his great suggestions. We received the photos quite rapidly and they turned out amazing. The format we received the photos in was very user friendly and well-explained. Ryan and I look forward to working with him again in our exciting future wedding photos! – Ryan & Marilyn

I hired Jonathan at the recommendation of a friend to capture a proposal for me. I’m very glad I did. He was instrumental in picking out a location to have a surprise proposal pulled off in public without the feel of being in public. He met with me a few days before and we went around Downtown St. Pete to a few different locations. We talked about logistics and what I wanted from the evening for my fiancée. He was able to listen to what I had in mind and help show me places where we could make it happen. During the proposal he was out of sight and located in an excellent position to capture her reaction. After the initial candid shot of the proposal he came up and congratulated us, introduced himself to my new fiancé and directed us through another little photo shoot. He made us at ease and helped guide us into positions and poses that made for some excellent pictures. We couldn’t be happier with our experience. The pictures turned out great and were available to us within 48 hours. He is very reasonably priced for the service and quality you will receive. – Brad & Morgan

Thank you so much! These are amazing and just what we were looking for. We haven’t stopped talking about how professional and great you were with everything you put into making this day perfect for us. Thank you again! – Mike & Shari

Jonathan – thank you so much for the quick turnaround, and for the amazing day! We love the photos and had a lot of fun – thank you!! – Adam & Danielle
