Sarasota FL Wedding Photographer :: Ringling Museum Engagement Photography
What do you get when you combine the jaw dropping Ringling Museum and two newly engaged lovebirds? One ridiculously epic engagement photo session! DC & Jennifer make such an adorable couple it was hard not to take a bad photo of the two of them and was extremely difficult narrowing down which images to post as I wanted to post them all! I simply cannot wait for their wedding at the Museum of Fine Arts in downtown Saint Petersburg in November.
How did the two of you meet? We first met at Jenny’s “Mexican Fiesta” themed 27th birthday party, hosted at a mutual friend’s house. At the time we both were seeing other people, so we just enjoyed some conversation and kept it moving. Then almost a year to the day later the same mutual friend invited both of us to happy hour and it just so happened that we were now both single. We immediately picked right back up with our conversation, laughed, and danced the night away. We went on our first date that week and have talked every day since.
How long have you two been together? 3 years and 5 months
How did he propose? DC arranged a private wine tour and tasting at the Domaine Chandon winery in Napa Valley, California. After, he asked me if I’d like to take a walk around the vineyard at sunset. Of course, I was delighted to do so. Unbeknownst to me, the winery was closed and we were the only two on the grounds. We spent the evening walking, laughing, and talking. Then he sat me down, got on one knee, said the most beautiful words and asked me to be his wife. I said yes and then the winemaker gentleman jumped out of the bushes with a bottle of champagne and two wine flutes! He has been secretly following us around, taking pictures. He had captured the entire proposal. It was perfect.
Describe the wedding day (colors, theme, location, etc): We will be getting married at the Museum of Fine Arts in downtown St. Pete. The colors are black, white, and blush. As for theme, we are going for a classic, vintage, elegant feel.
Any tips that you would give other couples planning their wedding? If you don’t already have one, set up a joint savings account and start saving for the wedding or honeymoon expenses right away. Things add up quickly. Don’t get stressed about finances or the wedding details. Remember that you’re basically planning a giant party to celebrate your love with your closest friends and family – so do all things with love and kindness during the planning process. Also, ladies, understand that he probably doesn’t care about colors or flowers at all…don’t be offended.
What was your reaction when you first saw your engagement photos? We absolutely love them! It was amazing to see the small intimate moments that we often share captured so beautifully on camera. Smiles, laughter, passion, and just plain silliness, Jonathan captured it all.
What was it like working with Jonathan during your engagement session? Jonathan is fantastic. We really felt as though we were working with an old friend. He made us feel comfortable, provided direction, and was happy to oblige when we offered ideas. Most importantly, we felt like he truly got who we are as a couple and was able to capture our essence. Is it November yet!? Looking forward to the next photo shoot!
