Recently I had the pleasure of photographing Tiffany and Tom for their engagement photography session. We did it at the beautiful Ringling Museum in Sarasota, Florida and also did a few family pictures with their son Gavin. Below are a few of my favorite pictures along with a Q&A:
How did the two of you meet?
Tom and I met through mutual friends and after much persistence on Tom’s part we began to date and have been going strong since then.
How long have you two been together?
We have been together for 3 1/2 years
How did he propose?
It was a beautiful day in Sarasota and we decided to go out on our boat just the 2 of us. We had done this many times but something about this day seemed magical. We saw more marine wildlife than ever before and the water was like glass. We decided to stop at one point and all of a sudden a school of dolphins swam up to the boat and started jumping and playing! It was unbelievable! I was watching the dolphins from the bow of the boat and when I turned around to tell Tom to get the camera there he was on one knee. It was as if he had ordered the dolphins and knew all along that this was going to happen (LOL). Later I found out that he brought the ring just in case the moment presented itself. It all just worked out perfectly, and of course I said yes!
Describe the wedding day (colors, theme, location, etc)
We are getting married at the Don Cesar in St. Petersburg, Fl. in the winter of 2016. Our colors are Navy and Gold and we are going for a Hollywood Glam/ Vintage theme. We are TnT so we want this wedding to be fun and explosive!
Any tips that you would give other couples planning their wedding?
I am the worst at giving advice but I will say try and plan ahead as much as possible so you are able to do everything that you want to do and to relax and enjoy the planning process together. Planning a wedding is stressful, but remember in the end it’s about bringing you together.
Why did you choose Jonathan Fanning as your wedding photographer?
Everyone said this was going to be the hardest decision to make, the most crucial if you didn’t get it right! After seeing Jonathan’s pictures on his website and then meeting him personally, it was actually one of the easiest I just knew he was the one that I wanted to capture our day! He is so likable and easy going he made us feel like we weren’t just his clients we were his friends.
What was your reaction when you first saw your engagement photos?
When we first saw our engagement pictures Tom’s response ” This guy is a magician!!” I thought they were beautiful and then when deciding which one would be used for our save the dates and what not it was hard to just pick one because they all turned out so nice. Jonathan truly has a gift and we are so blessed that we have gotten the opportunity to work with him.
