Had a great time yesterday creating a new executive business portrait for Mr. Holton.

James Holton is President of Holton Companies, a Florida based real estate development company and investment firm. Mr. Holton is also a successful lawyer, a well-known fundraiser for public causes and is affiliated with a federal government relations firm, Potomac Partners DC, LLC. 

Mr. Holton is a close friend and adviser to former Governor Jeb Bush, and President George Bush.  He was appointed by Governor Jeb Bush and confirmed by the Florida Senate to the Florida Transportation Commission and served as its Chairman from 2005 to 2007.  As Chairman, Mr. Holton was praised by the Governor for providing leadership in addressing Florida’s pressing transportation needs and maintaining strict public accountability for the Department of Transportation.

Mr. Holton served as a Director for Enterprise Florida Inc. (EFI) from 2005 to 2009.  EFI is a public-private partnership serving as Florida’s primary organization devoted to statewide economic development.  Mr. Holton worked extensively with the Florida Congressional Delegation and other Members of Congress on a variety of issues, including infrastructure, defense and banking and finance.

Mr. Holton graduated from Stanford University in 1976 with an A.B. in philosophy.  He received his J.D. from Boston University in 1981, and his L.L.M from Boston University Boston in 1982.  Currently, he resides in St. Petersburg, Florida and Washington, D.C.  Locally in Florida, he served as a board member at the University of South Florida’s Center for Urban Transportation Research and the Pinellas County’s Police Athletic League. Nationally, he is a member of the Board of Directors for Drug Free America.  He is also the past president of the Madeira Beach Chamber of Commerce (1986 – 1987).
