James S. Jenkins III (Jim) was born in Ft. Benning, Georgia. The son of an Army officer, Jim lived in many different parts of the world, including Arizona, New York, North Carolina, and Germany. Jim attended college at Furman University where he graduated magna cum laude. While at Furman, Jim learned Spanish through his travels in Guatemala, Mexico, Cuba, and El Salvador.

In 2005, Jim relocated to St. Petersburg, Florida for law school. He attended Stetson University College of Law where he graduated cum laude. During law school Jim interned for a large insurance defense firm in Orlando and a full service law firm in Daytona Beach. Additionally, he interned with the Sixth Judicial Circuit State Attorney’s Office in Clearwater. Upon graduation, Jim accepted a full time position as an Assistant State Attorney for the Sixth Judicial Circuit State Attorney’s Office where he tried over 55 jury trials, ranging from first degree felonies to second degree misdemeanors. Throughout his tenure at the State Attorney’s Office Jim handled all aspects of criminal law including meeting with law enforcement officers, assisting with arrest warrants, performing investigations, addressing discovery matters, writing appellate briefs, and negotiating and trying cases. Additionally, Jim served as a traffic court attorney where he oversaw all misdemeanor traffic offenses for North Pinellas County.

Following his tenure at the State Attorney’s Office Jim joined a local prestigious law firm where he handled personal injury and criminal cases in Manatee, Pinellas, Pasco, Hillsborough, and Hernando counties. Jim later started his own practice to focus on what he enjoys doing best – helping to alleviate the fear and stress of those facing the criminal justice system while advocating for the best possible outcome.
