Plant City Engagement Photography Session
Brittany & Dave are seriously two of the nicest people I have ever met! I am so excited to blog their beautiful engagement photography session that we did in Plant City and simply cannot wait to photograph their wedding at the historic Don CeSar
on St Pete Beach in 2016. Below are just a small handful of their engagement photos and their story:
How did the two of you meet?
We met at our favorite pub in Chicago that sits right next to the river it’s called Lizzie McNeil’s and has a great ambiance.
How long have you two been together?
We have been together since June of 2012, so about 3 and a half years
How did he propose?
Well, we had been apart for quite some time- although we lived together in Chicago for 2 years, Dave got a job at Ringling School of Art and Design as a professor and my company needed me to stay a bit longer, so we were traveling back and forth. Although I had been to the west coast of Florida to visit family, I really didn’t know much about the area. He had been telling me for a few weeks that it was “shell season” and that exotic shells washed up on shore during that time, so I was very excited to go look for shells on the beach. We were walking the beach and I spotted a huge shell from a distance but was scared that something was living inside of it so asked Dave to pick it up. When he picked it up and looked inside, there was a box and he proposed as our family watched from a distance and then we all celebrated.
Describe the wedding day (colors, theme, location, etc):
We are going with a very classy/ beachy feel with Tiffany Blue and Champagne as our colors. We are trying to keep things fairly simple but very classy with a little beach Flare, since our reception is on the beach 🙂
Any tips that you would give other couples planning their wedding?
I would definitely recommend starting early. The earlier you get things done, the less stressful those things are and we have had so much fun with every step. Enjoy the process, it flies by!
Why did you choose Jonathan Fanning as your wedding photographer?
First of all, his work is fantastic- take a look at his portfolio. Being engaged to an artist, it was quite difficult finding a wedding photographer
that met his expectations, but when we saw Jonathan’s work he was impressed so we scheduled a meeting. After meeting with Jonathan, it was obvious that he was the right choice for us. He is genuine and current and makes the whole process a lot of fun. We felt super comfortable with him right off the bat which is important 🙂
What was your reaction when you first saw your engagement photos?
We were stunned. They were even better than we had hoped for. We were nervous that, neither of us being big “posers” that the images would feel forced, but Jonathan captured the most pure and true moments during our shoot. The images absolutely show the love we have for each other and the fun that we experience in our day to day life. The scenery was perfect and he captured the lighting in ways we never imaged possible. They are perfect 🙂
